My name is Brandy Barrett and I have been the director here at Green Isle Community School for 3 years.  I enjoy this school.  It feels like a community.  I live in Winsted, MN.  My husband, Dan, and I have two boys.  Austin who is 16 and Joey who is 14.  I love to camp, scrapbook and watch my boys play sports.

My name is Jacquelyn Bauleke, and I am delighted to be starting my 3rd year at GICS. This year I will be the Clover Kids Coordinator, fourth grade math teacher, RTI specialist, and a paraprofessional in the 5th & 6th grade classroom. I love working with students and recently graduated from MSU Mankato with my teaching degree. I currently live in Blakeley with my husband, daughter, and my dog. Some of my favorite things are reading, hiking, figure skating and knitting. I am excited to be teaching at GICS this year!

My Name is Serenity and this is my 7th year at GICS! I absolutely love coming to work every day and being a part of this great team. Each student is so special to me and I am lucky to be able to spend so much time with them. I’m originally from Watertown, MN and now reside in Norwood with my boyfriend Josh, our daughter Alice (4 months) and our dog Cesar (7yrs) who is a pit bull/boxer mix. His daughters Courtney (17) and Sirenity (14) visit us often and we love to go camping and fishing together. I enjoy also enjoy reading and playing pool. I’ve been on a pool league since 2006.

Hi my name is Raymond Farniok. I was hired in Oct. 2016. I am a paraprofessional, bus driver, and custodian. I will be working with Kindergarten & 1st grade this year. I have been a Special Olympics coach for five years. I have been doing the Polar Plunge for four years. I was in the United States Army Reserves for 21 years. My hobbies include fishing, gardening and hunting. I am looking forward to working with the kids & staff.

It is my honor to be starting my 30th year in the field of education as the K-1 teacher at Green Isle Community School.   I am anxious to share my passion for learning with families and staff at this school.   I have enjoyed my first 2 years at this school and completely see the benefits of the philosophy of the school.  I truly believe that every student has unique talents and it is my goal to get students to use their talents to become the best individual learner that they can.  I have taught in many places including Guam and St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. I moved to the area 3 years ago from Walker, Minnesota where I taught for 17 years at Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Elementary school. My passions include teaching, learning, music, painting, traveling and playing the guitar. I Live in Jordan with my husband Tommy and our two cats Sunshine and Precious.

Hi everyone! My name is Lindsay Paschke and this year will be my first-year teaching at Green Isle Community School as a para. I will also be teaching fourth grade math and helping out with the school’s Response to Intervention program. Last spring I graduated from Saint Mary’s University in Winona, MN, and I am so excited to finally put everything I have learned to use! Some of my favorite hobbies include watching and playing hockey, playing with my dogs (Max and Bella), doing all kinds of crafts, and running 5ks, 10ks, and half marathons. I can’t wait to have an awesome year at GICS!

My name is Becky Peterson and this is my first year working at Green Isle Community School. Before this I worked for Minnesota Reading Corps for two years. I went to college at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. I was also in the Minnesota National Guard for 7 years. I live in Glencoe with my parents and two cats. I love reading, crafts of all kinds, and music of all kinds. I look forward to working in the 2nd and 3rd grade classroom and after school with the Clover Kids program.

My name is Samantha Quandt I live here in Green Isle. I graduated from New Prague High school in 2014. some of my favorite things are running, shopping, jet skiing and hanging out at the lake with friends and family. This is my 1st year as a paraprofessional in the kindergarten class room and I am super excited to take on this journey!

Hello!  My name is Kari Schmidt, and I am starting my 3rd year as a paraprofessional in the Program for 3, 4 and 5 yr old's room.  I am excited to start a new school year with GICS!  I love being with the littliest kids and seeing the excitement on their face with learning new things.  They always can put a smile on your face.  I live in Arlington with my husband Rick and our 2 kids, Kendra (11), and Carson (8).  My interests include camping, walking, and watching my kids sporting events.

I am so excited to start our 13th year at Green Isle Community School.  I have taught at Green Isle Community School since 2005. 

I attended Minnesota State University, Mankato and earned licenses in the following areas:  Elementary Education, Mild to Moderate Mentally Impairments (MMMI), Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), Emotional Behavior Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD.) I live outside of Green Isle with my husband Todd, and five children Julia (19), Austin (16), Grace (14),  Hailey (10), and Jacob (6).  I enjoy camping, fishing, baking, gardening, canning, and spending time with my family.

My name is Rebecca Stewart. I live in Glencoe, MN with my husband. We have two daughters Adrie (18) and Gracey (15). I graduated in the spring of 2017 from Minnesota State Mankato, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. In my free time, I like to travel with my family. We like to go to Wrightsville Beach in NC, Cocoa Beach in FL, Northern MN, Duluth MN, and to visit friends in South Dakota. I enjoy hiking, fishing, getting up early to watch the sunrise, and being outdoors with friends and family. This is my first year at GICS and I am very excited to be a part of the GICS Community of learners.

My name is Diana Streich and I will be a paraprofessional in the 4th-6th grade classroom.  I am excited to be working with the staff and students at GICS this year!  I currently live in Belle Plaine with my husband Tom, our two children, Kayla (10) and Brady (8), and our cat, Winnie (16).  I love spending time with my family and friends, enjoying the outdoors, and watching the MN Wild hockey team.

My name is Lance Wurm, I grew up in Maple Lake, MN, on a small farm. I graduated from Maple Lake High School, 1997. I attended college at NDSU in Fargo, ND. There I graduated with an Elementary Education degree and Health minor in December 2001. In 2006, I accepted the Head Coaching position at Glencoe/Silver Lake, where I will continue coaching. I moved to Silver Lake in 2007 where I currently live with my wife and 2 children.  This will be my 3rd year here at GICS and I am very excited to to continue teaching at GICS this fall!
